My first study abroad with the Honors College was a 4 week trip during the Summer of 2017 . The course I was enrolled in is called the Italy Grand Tour Redux. The course is based in Rome, Italy, and as a class we examined the cultural legacy of the classical eras like the Renaissance. Those classical eras, eventually lead to the contemporary art world of today. In this course I reflected on how the personal relevance of the Italian culture (specifically the Roman Empire) transcended and shaped the culturally evolving and digital world of today.

My second study abroad with the Honors College was another 4 week long trip that I experienced throughout the Summer of 2018. The course was called France: Art, War, and Human Rights. The class was based in Paris, France and it was considered an interdisciplinary course that examines France’s political, intellectual, and cultural conflicts. I frequently engaged in debates about absolutism, nationalism, and human rights with my professor and peers.
